Question Gorillapod SLR / Nikon D5000

Hi
New to the forum after just getting my first DSLR, and loving it. Been buying some accessories and just hit my first problem!
Recieved my Gorillpod this morning after using the smaller one for years and the clip now has a spirit level incorporated, this when attached to the camera body stops the D5000 screen rotating out, which is a bit of a problem if its attached to a tree or something to compose a shot.
Does anyone use a Gorillapod with a non spirit level clip on a D5000?

thanks|
Dave

Welcome to Pixalo Dave welcome:

Can you bring the screen out before you attach the Gorillapod to the camera?

no, it can't really move at all, I've also tried putting it on in reverse (so the spirit level is at the front) but the shape of it doesn't fit. I'm probably going to buy a standard clip and give that a go - I just thought I'd see before I spend yet another 'its only 6' !

Spacer? Having said that - it might cost the same as another clip.

I'll have an ask around and see if anyone has one to try at work, otherwise I'll just Dremmel the spirit level off so it fits!

Buy a different head, that way you've also got a spare if you buy another tripod, or sell the head on e-bay.
Just a thought

Re: Gorillapod SLR / Nikon D5000

I've picked up two standard ones from ebay for 5, should be here Wednesday so I'll see then. I only paid 7 for the Gorillapod from Play (open box) so its no big loss anyway.
