Re: Graphic Tablets

I've got the Wacom ? 3 model (cost about £70). I read lots of reviews & this one was best for the money at the time. Very easy to use, although I'm still to suss the pen pressure for brushes in PS.

Note it does take a little while to get used to, but great when you've sussed it.

Re: Graphic Tablets

I've got a graphire 3 and don't use it a huge amount but find it great when I do. Ideal for complicated selections.

Re: Graphic Tablets

For the people using graphic tablets, how often do you find yourself actually turning to them and is it mainly just for intricate work? I wonder if you find them invaluable or you would not buy again if you had a choice ?

Probably wouldn't bother again, I picked mine up second hand at a really good price.

Re: Graphic Tablets

Well I mainly got the graphic tablet to alleviate RSI of my wrist, from working all my working life on computer keyboards & especially the old mouse. For me I found the pen easier on the old wrist.

From a PS point of view I did find it easier for delicate work. Saying that as I've become more accustomed to PS, I know more generic ways to get the effects I'm after, so therefore don't use it that much these days.

Re: Graphic Tablets

Probably about 10% of the time. I use it mainly for certain PS jobs but as Dave says my wrist gets tired sometimes and it's good to be able to use the tablet. I got mine free and the question as to whether I would pay £35 for one - without having tried one probably no, but with hindsight certainly yes.

regards

Re: Graphic Tablets

I've tried em and the only thing I found useful was the pressure sensitivity but the overall learning curve was just too high. I'm sure with a weeks constant use I'd get used to it. Oh and mine (some old wacom thing) HATES multi-monitor

Personally I think a high quality 1600/2000dpi gaming mouse is just as good as a tablet. Especially those with on the fly sensitivity adjustments.

Honestly, go buy a Razer Copperhead
