Hähnel battery for D300?

Just wondering, in order to save money, whether the Hähnel equivalent of the EN-El4 battery would still give me the 8fps offered by the D300?

Thanks

Jack

Re: Hähnel battery for D300?

Dunno about that make of battery but I've been buying cheap batteries of ebay and have had no problems ( well not quite true I did get one completely dead one )

I pay about £8 for 3 batteries. I've used them in my 350D and had no probs, now have 2 spares for the 40D but not run a battery flat in that camera yet so can't comment

Hehe. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to entrust my D300 to some cheapo eBay batteries (no offence to them), but it's good to hear that they (mostly) work. Thanks

I've been running my 10D and 20D on 'cheap eBay batteries' since they were new. Not had a single problem and their capacity is quite a lot better than the original Canon ones.

Like C-Man I paid about £8-10 for 3 compared to the £54 that Canon want for one.

Re: Hähnel battery for D300?

Be careful the D300 and D3 are very fussy with third party batteries. They have sneaky tricks to detect non Nikon batteries. I have a third party En-EL4 and it worked fine my D2x but is a non starter in the D300 MB10 or D3 Other users have reported similar problems with third party EN-EL4s and 3s Incidentally most third party batteries are 2000mAh but the Nikon ones are 2500 but still a lot more than 25% more expensive.

Re: Hähnel battery for D300?

Thanks Vinny, that's interesting. Although, I'd be buying one from Hähnel, who are a reputable company (as you know), sold and even advertised with the cameras in many stores, online and real. They claim full compatibility, so surely they shouldn't not work?

Re: Hähnel battery for D300?

Just found a thread on another site where a guy says that his Hahnel batteries don't work with D300 others have reported that Photix and Delkin also won't work. One person suggests that the lenmar will work but I haven't heard of them.

Re: Hähnel battery for D300?

As a matter of interest how urgently do you want one and how much are they charging for the Hähnel? I have seen the Hahnel for £59 plus postage and it's only 2000mAh a 2500 mAh Nikon one can be yours from one of the reputable far east companies for about that.

Re: Hähnel battery for D300?

yeah I might just stick with the nikon ones to be sure, it's just the frigging charger that's so damned expensive. I really don't want to shell out £100 plus to charge a battery

Get in quick as Nikon are discontinuing the "cheaper" MH21 and only doing the MH22 charger
