Found this very interesting site by accident whilst seeking help with a problem.

I have a Nikon D40 - superb and fine for me, but am about to purchase a Nikon D80 for my daughter ( keen photographer !) problem is that I cannot afford the new 18-200mm lens and wondered if a Sigma 18-200 would work with the camera particaulary in the AF mode. I understand that with the D40 it would have to be the AF-DX lens but this is not so with the D80 ? anyone help ?

Hi Ken - I can't see why not. The Sigma is designed for 1.5+ FOV crop and that is what the D80 is. However, I will not be offended if you wait for confirmation from a Nikon member
