Help! Lenses for a novice

Hello

I have recently bought a Canon 350D from Jessops. It came with the standard bundle lense.

I will be hopefully taking pictures at Mcr Airport(not a number taker), i will be going to Martin Mere Wildfoul and Wetland Trust. I will take pictures of general bits and bobs too.

I have a Canon zoom EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 lens on loan from a chap at work.Seems good.

What i am wondering is would a better lense than the 75-300 be worth while. I will try and save for a anti shake one.

Also i might think of a macro lense too in the future.

Not sure on the amount i will spend yet, just looking for some advice first.

Thanks

Lee

Re: Help! Lenses for a novice

I can only mention lenses I have experience of and for zoom I use a Canon 70-300 IS USM - it has Image Stabilisation and my copy is an excellent lens. If I change it, it will only be for something like ther 100-400 L for the L quality and extra 100mm. I have just bought Canon's 100mm Macro lens and again can highly recommend it.

I only mention these two because they are in the categories that you mentuion you are looking for. There are many lenses out there which might suit your needs but beware of cheapies of Ebay - if you want quality glass you must pay for it. HTH.
