Re: Hot condtions card recoommendations
Sandisk cards and I expect most of the big names are good up to 85 degrees. It's the camera you want to watch, most pro models are only rated up to 40 degrees.
As for suppliers there are some threads here about Play.com. For your D300 there is a noticable advantage to using UDMA cards like the Extreme IV over the Extreme III. |

Re: Hot condtions card recoommendations
I'd be more worried about the body.
![]() My 20D had the hump in Egypt in '06 whilst trying to do some panos of Luxor temple. Let it cool down in the shade for a while and off she went again. Will see how the 5D fairs in Sept ![]() Oh and the middle east isn't too bad for this sort of thing but watch the condensation in the lenses and body when you go from an air conditioned room to outside. |

Re: Hot condtions card recoommendations
Hi there,
I live in Adelaide, South Australia. In our summer, we regulary get temperatures above 40C. Try and keep your camera & lens covered. I had a D200 freak out with ALL its electronics in direct sun, keep it in the shade (about 38C here) and you should be OK. The best memory cards for temperature managment are Panasonic (I don't think they make CF card though). Probably not much help, Pimer :-) |
