I've been semi keeping an eye on tripods on ebay, not so much because I need one, just if one came up at the right price I'd probably go for it.

Anyway, found this

i bought this tripod but never used but i have adjusted the height a little but cutting off about 2" off the bottom leg. i done this just to make it a little smaller but it still goes to head hight.

hmmm, I can see some possible sense in this if perhaps they wanted the tripod to sit at a certain height when fully extended. Or perhaps it's just written wrongly and they have taken a few inches off the top leg sections to reduce the packed size. It is odd though and I'm probably giving them too much credit.

LOL.. Very strange.

I've got a Manfrotto 055 I've had about 20 years. It's superb quality, but there are better, lighter, options if you're looking to cart it around. Current prices at Warehouse Express....

http://www.warehouseexpress.com/inde...manfrotto.html

Don't forget you still have to buy a head for it.

He's relisted it now with a 'Buy It Now' price of 70 quid.

Just asked the seller a question, it goes along these lines:

Do you have a photo of the actual tripod your selling?

Do you still have the 2" you cut off?

Would you consider selling the 2" piece you have cut off? I want to add a bit onto the one I've got.

It would be interesting to see the reply, but the email I have regestered on the account isn't valid anymore.
