I got it!
By it, I mean a Nikon D70 with 18-70mm lens. I also got a 1gb Sandisk Ultra II.
Total price £780 less £100 cashback - which the shop said they would arrange for me. How nice is that? I had a good feel of both the Canon 350D and 20D, but neither felt right in my hand. The grip on both cameras was too small. The Nikon felt good and chunky. I think the body is lighter than a 20D, but the kit lens means the it actually weighs a fair bit more. The kit lens on the D70 is really quite heavy. Anyway, I'm quite pleased with it so far! Right, I'm off to play!

nice pic m8,
not bad at all for a start with the D70, are you aware that there is a firmware upgrade available for our camera's, it addresses a few AF issues as well as changing the look of the menu screens and a few other tweeks in the camera's firmware ( the camera's hardware software drivers ) there is a link on here somewhere, and its easy to do, i have done mine and a few others have to, you can see what version you re running by using the ' spanner ' in the menu and scriling to firmware , the new version is ' 2 ' anything below that and the upgrade would be usefull hope this helps MP

Thanks MyPix. I knew about this, but hadnt plucked up the courage to do. However, I did it just now, and it worked out as far as I can tell. Thanks.
