I like it.

I have been left a Fuji Xt1 and two lenses by an old friend, she loved it and having used it over the week end I can see why.
I actually felt something using it I have not felt for some time, pleasure in the handling of the camera, its "retro" controls, the quality of the images, and the lack of weight round my neck!
I wont change from my full frame cameras but will make it my "spare" when doing events etc.
I have posted some images of the museums farm animals who posed for me.

Re: I like it.

Results look great for a "spare" indeed

Some great series of shots, like the goats, sheep and horses.

Not overly sure whether this was the best side of the horse - but amusing

Re: I like it.

Cheers Chris, the horse is Sammy and he is an inquisitive chap, he was looking for the groom who had gone into the tack room for a brush and decided he could fit in as well!

Re: I like it.

CHARLES, I AM PLEASED TO HERE, THAT YOU NOW HAVE AN XT1, BUT IT IS VERY SAD NEWS ABOUT YOUR FRIEND WHO LEFT IT TO YOU.

I HAVE JUST SOLD MY XT1, PLUS LENSES ETC. IT IS A FANTASTIC CAMERA, CAN'T FAULT IT, BUT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A LOT LIGHTER THAN A DLSR, I DID FIND IT TO SMALL, AS I HAD TO USE IT WITH MY LEFT HAND, EVEN WITH THE BATTERY GRIP IT DID NOT FEEL RIGHT, I WAS HAVING TO USE IT UPSIDE DOWN, SO THAT I USED THE SHUTTER BUTTON ON THE VERTICAL GRIP.

I HAVE SINCE BOUGHT A D700 ALSO GOT A D3S IN PART EXCHANGE FOR MY FUJI GEAR.

I AM REALLY LOVING THE FULL FRAME EXPERIENCE, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE HEAVY THEY FEEL RIGHT IN MY HAND, ALSO I CAN ALWAYS USE A TRIPOD. I ALSO BOUGHT A TAMRON 24-70 2.8 VR, WHICH IS A TRULLY FANTASTIC LENS ON FULL FRAME.

I REALLY HOPE YOU ENJOY THE FUJI CHARLES, I AM SURE YOU WILL.

Re: I like it.

Thanks Woody, I too find it a bit small, I have neuropathy (nerve damage) in my hands and have hit the Focus assist button by accident, the first time, I was puzzled by the enlarged image in the view finder and thought something was amiss with the zoom.
I will still keep it though because of where it came from, and the image quality, It came with a grip and the 10 / 24 and 18 / 135 zooms and a small flash so is almost a complete kit.
I still like my full frame cameras and would never give them up, due to the tracking focus, speed Etc.
