I'm going to the NAIAS on Monday, and I'm shooting concerts/clubs tonight and tomorrow. Shot last night at a REALLY dark club, and found myself constantly disappointed at the 28mm minimum on my 28-75mm f/2.8 tamron. I really want wide for the auto show and for urban/city shots when I'm downtown for school.

SO, on my way to my gig tonight, will be stopping by the local shop to pick up a SIGMA 18-50mm f/2.8 DC Macro lens. Hopefully I get a good copy.

The ultra wide will have to wait, since the faster lens is more of a priority at the moment for work purposes.

Anyone else have this lens?

Not that lens, but I use a 17-55 Nikkor as one of my semi-permanent lenses. At the widest end it's a FOV equivalent to 25.5mm on a full frame camera and it's a rare day when I'm faced with a situation where that's not wide enough. Almost all of my 'people' shooting is done with this lens, and it's just as capable when it comes to landscapes or other scenic work.
