Re: Kingston memory cards are they any good?

I use one of the 'Elite' (half the speed @ 133x) and don't get any probs so I'd suggest that they'd be OK

Re: Kingston memory cards are they any good?

Kingston are a respected maker so there should not be any issues with their cards.

From a personal point of view I think that a 16GB card is too big for most uses. If the card gets corrupted, or if it is lost or damaged, you stand to loose a lot of images. I use 4GB cards that give me around 200 images. Yes I might have to change cards, but I feel more comfortable by spreading the risks.

I have 4GB cards down to 1GB. If the card goes for a burton I dont lose so many images. They are cheaper to buy too. I dont mind what make I buy, so long as i have heard of them. Touch wood I have never had a problem with a card

I have some of these, and never had a problem with them. I stick to the 4gb cards down to 1gb cards, as Dabhand said just in case!

Re: Kingston memory cards are they any good?

I am using Kingston memory in this computer....
I have 4GB of matched memory here, and apart from the arguments that XP doesnt use that much against the fact that my Graphics card uses what XP doesnt, its the fastest reliable "Install it and forget it" memory I can recommend...
Its also in the other three computers in this house that have all had memory upgrades.

I also have a couple of 4gig CF cards that I use in my Canon, and they are the most reliable memory cards I have ever used, once again on the "Install it and forget it" basis, I have never had any question of trust of those cards, they just "Work".

Kingston is one of those names that you just dont need to question, they are that good.

In fact, I cant think of any other name that I would buy if Kingston was available......

I also have a few Memory sticks (USB) Made by Kingston...
In the same way that Samsung is a popular choice of screen in this house (7 at the last count) I go by reliability, and Kingston can't come higher recommended from me....

Re: Kingston memory cards are they any good?

Kingston are a reputable well known make they shouldn't be any problem at all. Other good makes are Sandisk and Lexar.

Sandisk tend to be the priciest of the lot but their technology is second to none and I have never had a fail with them even on my 5 or 6 year old 2GB card.

Re: Kingston memory cards are they any good?

I have a Kingston 16Gb (no point going for a small card with my camera, the file sizes on a 21mp sensor are huge!) and it works beautifully, has done for nearly three years and never given me a moment's anxiety. As to have two other 4Gb cards I had of theirs. Wouldn't heistate to recommend Kingston cards :o)

Cheers,
Rob
