Red face which lens

well its the same old question, into wildlife & bike racing and i am looking for a new zoom lens i have seen 2 that would fit for me but i cannot decide they are canon 100-400is or sigma 150-500 os, please help

Nobody can make this decision for you. Depends on many things, particularly how much mullah have you. Read as much as you can, look at sample photos etc but it's down to you in the end, no-one can make the decision for you.

Totally agree with stepheno.

There again I bought into the Canon system purely to use Canon glass.
Like everything else its down to personal preference.

Re: which lens

Use both, prefer the Sigma for faster focus, better IS, equal image quality, extra 100mm and much easier to carry - but best to use the Sigma @ f/8 whereas the Canon is useable @ f/5.6. I do like the Canon 'push-pull' zoom (even if it does suck up the dust!) as it makes MF and zoom changing easy and the Sigma only has a simple zoom lock @ 150mm to prevent barrel extending (but carrying it horizontally by the strap prevents zoom 'creep')
