Re: Lens Baby ? Can someone explain

it does something called selective focus. you chose an area of the photo to be in focus and the rest becomes blurry. used to be a popular technique in portraits. where the lensbaby is unqiue compared to a filter is that you can mvoe the focal point to anywhere in the image.

there are a few photoshop actions around that produce similar results, but people say they don't quite achieve the same effect as the real thing.

i hope ive got that right as i've never used a genuine lensbaby before, only cokin filters that have a similar effect.

Anybody actually own one of these ?.

Must admit they baffled me at first, but Noah's described their purpose well.

Re: Lens Baby ? Can someone explain

If you go to the offical site besides more infor and being able to buy, you can also view a flash tutorial and some galleries of shots taken using lensbabies.

Lensbabies >>> Selective Focus SLR camera lenses

From the galleries there most of the effects could be reproduced in PS but that would depend on how competent and comfortable you are with image editing.
