Lightbulb lens converter mm

hi ladies and gents, silly question to some of you but one i need an answer to none the less. i have a 35-420mm lens. i-e digital 50x zoom. if i added a 1.4 tele converter what would the mm end up at. for the life of me i cant remember how to work it out. my maths leaves alot to be desired. can anyone help. thanx graham.

Graham it's 1.4 x 420mm = 588mm!

Is that the sound of someone kicking themselves in Welshpool?

Also, not wanting to be nit-picking, I make your zoom a 12x, not 50x. 35 x 12 = 420. Digital zoom just takes some pixels from the centre of the frame and enlarges them. This can in theory give an enormous range, but the higher you go the worse the quality gets. The optical range is the one to go by.

Your new range will be 49 - as Mark said, 588.
