Lens extenders

Hi.

I want to increase the zoom range of my Canon EF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM lens
What type of extenders do i need or is the lens not compatible with any extenders.
Also will it decrease the image quality.

Re: Lens extenders

Most people think the 1.4x converter is the way to go. You'll loose one stop, but I think your AF will be OK. IQ is supposed to be OK too. The 2x will loose 2 stops - don't know if that will affect the AF. Some say the IQ suffers, but I've never used one so can't advise here.

I think GS Gary said he uses both 1.4x and 2x - and sometimes both together, so he will be able to advise further regarding IQ.
