Question Lens Help!

Hi all,

Feels strange... haven't posted here in a loooong time...

Anyways, am about to get a gift from my wife which is a lens

I have got 6 choices that I can get from. They are (btw, they are all Canon lens and I have a 350D):

a. EF 28-200
b. EF 75-300
c. 90-300
d. 28-135
e. 100-300
f. 55-200

I am looking for zoom lense which I can use everyday. The sales person recommended the 28-200. Also, I was looking for a one that had a macro capability.

Any advise?

Thanks

Re: Lens Help!

Hi sbtm, nice to see you around. I take it you mean a general purpose walk-about lens? And you don't mention money? How much does your wife think you are worth?

Just to add to your choice I would also recommend the Tamron 18-200 or the new 18-250. I have the 18-200 and would heartily recommend it Otherwise the Canon 28-200 probably gives you a decent range HTH.

Hey hey hey... lets not go there ok? Price ain't a matter cause they are all well within range... anyways, can't go for the Tamron cause we don't have a Tamron dealer in town and nor do we have a Sigma one

The only option we have here is either the Canon or Nokia dealers and the lenses they sell

Re: Lens Help!

I would agree with the sales person on this (very rare) occasion. I have an EF 75-300 and it's a great lens but certainly not a generall all purpose one. You have a much better range with the 28-200.

Good luck!
