Lexar udma card reader

I EVENTUALLY GOT ROUND TO FINDING THE LEXAR CARD READER I BOUGHT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. WHEN WE MOVED, IT WAS PACKED IN A BOX AND COULD NOT FIND IT UNTIL TODAY.

WELL I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS USED ONE OF THESE WITH SANDISK CARDS, BUT IT WOULD NOT WORK WITH THE SANDISK CF CARDS THAT I TRIED IN IT, ALL I KEPT GETTING, WAS A BOX COMING UP ON THE SCREEN, SAYING ERROR.

I HAVE READ REVIEWS ON THIS, WHERE SOME PEOPLE HAVE SAID THEY CANNOT GET SANDISK CARDS TO WORK IN IT.

Re: Lexar udma card reader

As a matter of interest, what card format are you using? CF or SD?

Re: Lexar udma card reader

I've used one of these for about 6 months without issue. The last week it just shuffled off its mortal coil and died

Re: Lexar udma card reader

Have you tried the card in a different reader to eliminate a corrupted card?

Do you format your cards in camera or in your computer?

Re: Lexar udma card reader

Graham, i have tried three sandisk cf cards in it so far, i have not had a problem with these cards, as they download from the camera using the usb cable. So it may be that i have just got a faulty card reader.

Re: Lexar udma card reader

So you re-format your cards in camera then?

If you Google this issue, there are a few people having the same problems as you, (one with a replacement reader too) and others having no problems at all

Some say that unplugging the USB and re-connecting it cures the problem.

Must be worth an e-mail to Lexar support. Presume that the reader is not MAC sensitive?
