Makro Tubes
Im not in the position to buy a makro lens, but was thinking of getting these tubes off ebay, can anyone comment if they are any good.

Thats the set I have. They work fine and seem strong enough to me. i either use the whole lot together or just the longer ones. The short ones seem a bit pointless to me.
Use them with the longer lens in your sig. Forget the focus ring - once on the spacers just use the zoom action to focus. A tripod is near essential as is a cable release (again get a cheapie (adidt or something brand) off ebay). You need the lens on f8 or f11 or you will have no depth of field at all. With the lens on the camera normally set it to f8 and press the DOF preview button, hold the button and remove the lens. Oh and keep the spacers in a poly bag after use or you will put dust into your cameras insides next time.

Personally I'd get auto tubes which maintain the connections between the lens and camera. Saves a lot of faffing about but a bit more expensive
.
