Manfrotto

My Velbon 250 has had a rough time lately salt water and a drop - tempted by a Manfrotto 055PROB (seems to weigh just 1lb more than the CF ones) and a 488RCO ball-head (with quick release plate).

Mostly for landscape work - what do you guys reckon? Cheers

Edit: hmmm - the SHERPA PRO CF-530 at WH Express also looks good - half price CF one. I suppose the Manfrotto ballhead would fit on it? Edit - it seems it won't as a quick google gets this quote " One hic - it's equipped with a 1/4 stub for the head, and not 3/8".
