I had wondered if they'd moved Chesterfield and/or Washington

Now all you need to do is wait for Dave, Steve and Vinny to come along and 'discuss' the IQ

... and remove the IMG tags.

Those are seriously impressive, but were they shot as JPG and just resized, or were they RAW files processed with perhaps some noise reduction?

Re: My 5DII

converted with adobe DNG converter and processed in lightroom from the raw files ...... minimal noise reduction .....

I was just trying to show how extremely useable they are with 30 seconds processing ..... a non scientific test maybe - but real world shots in near darkness

Hey after checking light levels in hotel as part of wedding reccy, I would love to have ISO6400

Not sure if you paid up front for this camera Simon, but with weaker £ you could make a killing selling on EBAY in US & converting back to £'s

As dark as this then ........

Unfortunately I paid when the £ was worth $$ WOOOHOOOO - so it has cost me not a lot for camera and grip ...

I'm hoping she actually pries it from her fingers and posts it .... but I doubt it will be here for my 4pm wedding on the 22nd.

That's one brave lady for wearing candles.

Ignoring the fact I don't have the money, what I've seen so far is very very tempting. Mind you £2K+ would buy some nice glass, which would probably be more useful.

Oh and Dave, right back at ya!

Re: My 5DII

I'm sure I wasn't the only one straining to look for little black dots on Abe

No way you'd get me wearing candles on my head

Not bad shots

Congrats on your new toy BTW (I know it's not a toy for you, but you know what I mean.)

LOL! I see Canon have acknowledged the problem and are promising a fix "soon" - they reckon it's just a firmware fault so easy to correct

Re: My 5DII

Oh there have been black dots ..... only on a couple of test christmas light pics and blown up 400% ..... nothing to spoil the picture and Canon have publicly acknowledged it - so I suspect a firmware upgrade soon.

Re: My 5DII

They are all usable images, the new technology that is extending the usable iso ranges on these latest DSLR's is really opening up where natural light photography can be done.

Congratulations of your new camera

Re: My 5DII

Nice shots spxxxx!!

I wish I had a f/2.8 tele lens... as i'm a poor man I have put my best value Sigma 70-300 on my 5D2 (I wonder if there's any other 5D2 user have this camera lens combination lol) to shoot some swans. All I can confirm is that 5D2 is a great tool to spoil any cheap lenses I did struggle to produce a crispy shot without post-processing!! (sharpness cranked up to 60 and a little contrast adjustment on this shot in LL2)

And here it is a shot from a concert I went last week.
