Decided to go up this morn saw a few good deals although nothing really to get to excited about alot of money appearing to be changing in some sites others not alot. Best i saw a D300 for was £999. And something else that didnt make my day was a D200 with grip 3 months warrenty all for £500
Some quite interesting talk shows and demos going on thou. Food in the cafe etc wasnt to bad either better than Olympia and their £6 for 2 sandwiches and a cold cup of tea.
Was impressed with the Canon stand quite a effort done there, Nikons usual 10 deep trying to play with a D3. Did get told to return my grip for my D300 thou as theyve had a few come back with the same prob mine has. The shutter releas e button has very little resistence the two i tried there werre both different one same as mine the other much more tighter feeling.
One retailer there told me they took more money since it opened than they did in the whole of January!!
Anyone going tomorrow get there by 9.30am otherwise u end up stood in the railway station!

I know u got one but i saw a 17 55 for £650, plus all the prices are on a list on both camera world and Jacobs but it seemed if u stood there and haggled abit it seemed to work on the not so up to date stuff. I saw a D2xs for £1600. And nobody seemed to want the dam thing.

A few good bargains on the Jacobs stand. They still had some "B" grade Canon cameras bodie kits and lens.all very well priced and with 12 months Canon warranty. An enormous 800MM lens you would need a rucksack to carry it and a bank balance to match.
Canon themselves had an impressive raised area rather like a Prees Gallery which had all the high end cameras and long focal length zoom lens.

No Sony stand but this was the first time Canon have been present for 4 years but there was non of their non DSLR you could get your hands on.

Also Canon are doing cashback on most of their cameras and lens. Again Jacobs had the most items. As well as giving a good price on a 40D body you get another £100 cashback provided its purchased before the end of Focus. So get your skates on it finishes tomorrow.

Adobe were giving some excellent 15 minute slots on software usage.One especially good was for their Lightroom lasso & brush usage to get rid of red eye. At the same time painting in a different Eye Colour. Very impressive and all done in less than 10 seconds before going on to another dodge. The guy also took questions about "how do you do" and promptly obliged.

A few stands on wedding stuff as well Sumerleft.

Also I agree muscle, the restaurant was serving some decent hot food. Chicken supreme PiriPiri with penne ,pepers plus two fresh veg and a choice of potatoes. £8

I went yesterday with the intention of getting a 5D but Jacobs wouldn't move an inch on their price which was exactly the same as their web price (£1299) The 1st cameras stand was a melee I waited ages to be spoken to and then on asking their price for a 5D body only was told that they were out of stock As this lady had just taken an order for a Nikon D300 and was going to post the camera to the purchaser I asked again what their price was, again she said she was out of stock so i asked her simply "Do you sell the 5D body?" she said no so I simply walked off.............eejits!!!

I did come away with a Lowe Pro AW 300 Slingshot for £40 though which was nice.

We went on Sunday and parked in the outdoor show parking, bit of a longer walk but saved us £8 !!! I already had my ticket but my father in law didn't, we then had to wait for 1 1/2hr's to get in.

Today was not that busy. Walked straight in at 10 am.

As others, I found prices no better than web, so didn't buy anything. I did play with the Nikon D3 though .... what a gorgeous camera Also spent 10 mins being shown the Elinchrom D-Lites, which are definitely the studio lights for me
