Need good mini tripod for cheap
Hi guys, am going to Berlin on Wednesday evening, and I don't want to take my big tripod, so I was thinking of getting a little baby one that folds up really small, and extends to a kind of decent ish length, but that's not really an issue, just something to keep my camera steadier than my hand would. I would like it to be cheap too
Any suggestions?Thanks, Jack M |

Re: Need good mini tripod for cheap
In last monthe's DP, they rated the Manfrotto 785B Modo Maxi and the National Geographic Tundra NGTT2 at 4 stars. Both are £50. I've heard good things about the Velbon CX range, (360-480?) but I'm not sure if they are intended for video - that is only two-way heads.
Not sure if they would be small enough for you when folded though. |

Re: Need good mini tripod for cheap
I have the small one and it's excellent for a compact, I also have the bigger one to do what is being asked and it's just not fit for purpose with an SLR. It is not even sturdy enough for My Panny FZ30 bridge. If you try to use it wrapped around things etc the ball head just can't take the weight and the camera keeps tilting down. The only thing it can just about manage is to be a small tabletop tripod but even then it struggles with a tendency to collapse and there are much better ones out there.
