Re: New babys here!

When it comes to the 50mm Doesn't Nikon have a f1.4, a f1.4D and a f1.4G. If so, what is the differences between the D version and the G version. Also I heard about the f1.2 some loves it some are not so hot about it. Would love the wide openess for the Bokeh but my f1.4D will have to do for now - LOL

I think the 'older' D lenses have an aperture ring on the lens barrel whereas the G lenses do not ?

I think you are right John - I don't think the D lenses have the silent wave motors either, so the focus is slower and the lens is noisier. On my 50mm D lens, the focus ring also rotates when it autofocuses, so you have to remember not to hold it!

How much faster does it focus you think than the D version?
