New horizons

I MADE THE STEP INTO LESS HEAVY PHOTOGRAPHY TODAY.
I HAVE BOUGHT A FUJI X-PRO1+18-55MM LENS + GRIP.

IT REALLY IS A VERY NICE CAMERA, REALLY EASY FOR ME TO USE WITH ONE HAND. IT HAS THE QUIETEST AUTO FOCUSING AND SHUTTER I HAVE EVER KNOWN ON ANY CAMERA.

THE MENU TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO, BUT DON'T THEY ALL

SO FAR, VERY VERY PLEASED.

Re: New horizons

THANK YOU GRAHAM, I THINK IN ALL HONESTY, THIS IS THE BEST MOVE I HAVE EVER MADE, WITH REGARDS TO CAMERAS.

THIS FUJI REALLY IS A GREAT CAMERA, IT IS VERY EASY FOR ME TO USE WITH MY LEFT HAND, HAS A GREAT RETRO FEEL TO IT, IT'S AROUND THE SAME SIZE AND FEEL TO MY CONTAX G2 RANGEFINDER FILM CAMERA.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT.

Re: New horizons

I have a Fuji also and despite making excellent cameras the menus might as well be in Japanese. Enjoy

Re: New horizons

I went smaller to a Sony NEX 6 as well my Sony A77 and now use the smaller lighter camera most often, it's much, much easier to carry around but for fast work I still reach for the A77

Re: New horizons

CHARLES, I THINK THE 18-55 WILL BE ENOUGH FOR MY NEEDS NOW, I DON'T REALLY NEED A LONGER LENS ANYMORE.

STEPHEN, AS YOU SAY, THE MENUS ON FUJI CAMERAS MIGHT AS WELL BE IN JAPANESE. IT IS REALLY THE ONLY THING THAT LETS THEM DOWN AND THE ONE THING I AM NOT HAPPY WITH, BUT I EXPECT WITH TIME, I WILL GET USED TO IT

JAKE, HAVING A MUCH LIGHTER CAMERA, WILL MAKE LIFE A LOT EASIER FOR ME, AS I EXPECT IT HAS FOR YOU. GET THE SAME SHOTS, WITHOUT THE HASSLE OF CARRYING A HEAVY CAMERA AND LENSES AROND

Re: New horizons

Good move Woody - Fuji are awesome - not quite up to replacing ALL my Nikon DSLR kit for the "day job" but certainly getting there and I use my X-T1 for a lot of my work now!
