New kit in 6 weeks?

Hi all
I'm 'celebrating' yet another birthday on the 24 October.
On my wish list is:
A macro lens for my canon 400D
OR / AND (latter point for morlandroger to note)
a better telephoto lens of 75-300, with no unpleasant marks on the lens (can't imagine where I got it from , morlandroger)

Can you advise on best pieces of kit to add to my list?

This is not a hint help (morland roger) .

nellie

Re: New kit in 6 weeks?

Hi nellie....a lot depends on how much morlandroger is going to pay My recommendations would be a Canon 100mm Macro or the 70-300 is a very good lens with IS and a decent price. That said, Sigma and Tamron do some good macro lenses and there's always the 100-400

Have a browse in the Equipment Reviews.

Re: New kit in 6 weeks?

Since it's a birthday present:
Canon 100mm macro
Canon 70-300 IS

Otherwise, non-birthday, value for money:
Sigma 105mm macro (quality's as good but not quite as well built)
Sigma 70-300mm APO (superb value)

Blotchy? Want to borrow my 70-300 IS ? A 70-200L 2.8 IS and it is yours.

You did well there, Nellie:
Canon 100mm
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS
and a 1Ds MkIII!

You're going to be having a great birthday!

Re: New kit in 6 weeks?

Hi Markulous
Yes I WILL have a great birthday present
I'll settle for a NEW macro lens or a NEW telephoto which doesn't have any marks on it.
Ha!
