New lens for my EOS350d- Please Help

Dear all,

I am looking to replace my kit lens and I am in a little bit of a quandry.....

I think I have settled on a choice between 2.

Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4.5 DC macro or Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 EX DC macro.

Does any one have any experience with these two lenses??

The 18-50 would leave me with a 20mm gap in my collection as my next zoom starts at 70mm, this doesnt bother me overly although that extra 20mm can be quite useful on a standard lens.

I do like the thought of having 2.8 throughout the range though

Please help....

Cheers

Matt

Not used either, but that's why I'd go for the 18-50mm

Me too. If you had not got the 70 on your next lens, I might have plumped for the 17-70.

I've never used the 17-70 but the 18-50 is a great lens. I had one for a while and was really pleased with it, only sold it because I bought a 5D.

cheers

Seen some stonking shots from 18-50 & with the f/2.8 throughthr range, that would deal it for me

Re: New lens for my EOS350d- Please Help

I had the old 18-50 2.8 and it was excellent. It now has macro and hypersonic so it's a no brainer. Constant 2.8 is more useful than 20mm
