Newby doing some research
Hello to all. Im looking forward to learning from this forum about well about everything. Ive been shooting for the past two years and have allways loved to look into other hobbies and such.
Althought I maybe in a bubble with information and names. I have never heard of Kalimar products . How good are they? Reason being is that I would like to get a simple glass without spending too much for the moment. Any insight or opinions are welcomed. Ryan |

Hi and welcome. I hadn't heard much about Kalimar other than the name so I Googled. It came up with www.kalimar.com but on clicking that it takes you into a search portal
Looking a bit further, an article suggested that the lens was made by Samyung and I can only find reference to Kalimar 35mm lenses. You don't say whether you are 35mm or digital but either way I think you can find better glass from more recognised manufacturers without spending a furtune. Maybe post more info on what camera you have and what you need the lens for and I'm sure you'l get plenty of help. regards |

Thanks, And yes I did google the same and ran thourgh the hoops like allways. I have a simple digi slr, a olympus e-500 and im looking into a telephoto for basic fotography. A gentleman at my local shop sudgested a sigma 400mm for my camera but, I dont quit have that money right now.
So, basic wildlife shooting, landcape, and some(if possible) sky shooting. Thanks for the advice and info. Ryan |
