Mmmm! Seems that we may have a hiccup in the transaction waiting to hear back from the seller.

Re: Nikon 14 24 2.8 on a D300 anyone?

Can't speak for it on a D300, but on a D3 this lens is seriously sweet. Here are a couple of frames shot with it

@24mm, f/2.8. 1/60 sec and ISO 1600 with mild perspective correction in Photoshop

@ 14mm, f/8, 1/40 sec and ISO 800 with heavier perspective correction in Photoshop

@ 14mm, f/2.8, 1/60 sec at ISO 1600 - no perspective correction, just a crop to panoramic aspect

I've tried it on the D300 and it's stellar but It doesn't really stretch the lens. As the other VP has demonstrated it is at it's best on full frame. On a crop sensor the Sigma 10-20 or especially the Tokina 11-16 are a better fit.

Re: Nikon 14 24 2.8 on a D300 anyone?

The comments about this lens are really great, i must say. The only reason I can think of to buy this lens is if you have a D700 or D3.

Is this your reason to have to buy a D3 or D700 muscle

Re: Nikon 14 24 2.8 on a D300 anyone?

I am about ousting my D300 and grip and a few lenses inc the 17 55, I have a 70 200 2.8, so that just leaves a FF body and a 24 70. But i might just see how the 14 24 behaves on a D300, although i have read many positive comments with this lense on a D300 and seen the results on another site, I think if the D3 hadnt suddenly jumped by 400 then i may well of not taking much persuading, but thats life. Still if in 12 months i decide to go FF i am partly there.
Hard to justify the outlay yes, but i dont really spend money on any other pastimes with a somewhat :from her ladyship
