Re: NIKON 18-200 Vs TAMRON 18-270
If you were only going for one lens then I'd go for 1 or 4. 4 gives you more reach but I haven't used it. I did own one and it was a very flexible lens but out of those 2 I'd go for the Sigma. With any lens that covers that kind of range you have to compromise a little on performance and image quality. The 70-300 and 55-200 would not be great as an only lens. But for the same money as the 18-200 you can get a Tamron 17-50 and teh Nikon 55-200 or 70-300 if you think you could handle changing lenses these would give you a lot more possibilities.

Re: NIKON 18-200 Vs TAMRON 18-270
I've owned 1) & 3) & shared some thoughts here :-
http://www.pixalo.com/reviews/showpr...oduct/53/cat/9 Pixalo Photographic Equipment Reviews - AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Zoom-Nikkor - If I wanted to use just 1 lens when out, then I would choose the Nikon 18-200. Otherwise the 70-300. I'll leave others to comment on the other lenses |

Re: NIKON 18-200 Vs TAMRON 18-270
I've given links to my thoughts on the Tamron 18-270 here...
nikon D90 or some other DSLR I can't comment on the other lenses as I don't have them.

Re: NIKON 18-200 Vs TAMRON 18-270
If its only one lens then it has to be the 18-200 VR Nikkor, if you have a kit lens with your D90 then it has to be the 70-300 VR Nikkor dont even think about buying substitute lenses go for the best..... If you cant afford it then dont buy!....

Re: NIKON 18-200 Vs TAMRON 18-270
If you look at comparative reviews - and there are a few if you Google - the consensus seems to be that the Nikon 18-200 isn't actually better than the Tamron. Both have their strengths and weaknesses and each is best at a different focal length. Same goes for the Canon 18-200.

My choice for just one lens would be between #1 and #4.
Maybe you should go with the cheaper of the two? |

Re: NIKON 18-200 Vs TAMRON 18-270
I can strongly recommend nr 1 as it is a very good allround not to heavy lens.
From what i've read, nr4 is heavier. But I wouldn't be able to review that lens, as I haven't had one in my hands. |
