Re: Nikon 35-70af lens

Welcome to Pixalo grthgdwn

Your camera and lens combination should work together, but you will find that this focal length will be a bit restrictive for close work. Effectively (due to the smaller sensor in the D70) you have the 35mm equivalent of a 56-112 mm. Normal human eye focal length equivalent on your D70 will be about 35mm, so as you can see, you have a normal to mild telephoto lens.

For when you cannot get far enough away from your subject, you will need to get a lens with a lower focal length than 35mm - and most lenses sold as kits with a body will normally start at 18mm. My D70s came with a super kit lens, an 18-70, and I used this for over a year before expanding my lens collection.

If your 35-70 is the f2.8 lens it is a very fine lens indeed, and will have far better quality than average, but as I said earlier, it might not give you the flexibility to be useable in tight situations.
