Nikon 70 300 vr problem
Can someone please tell me that the lense is not faulty as im 99 percent sure it is, Basically when you turn the focus ring (the one nearest the body) the reading behind the little glass window should move, mine doesnt, plus when mounted on D300 it will not AF in any shape or form, all contacts look clean straight etc, plus one other concern is when you mount the lense on the body even with it turned off obviously it sounds as if the VR is kicking in. The figure behind the glass window is stuck on 3 which to me explains why the thing dont wanna play

Re: Nikon 70 300 vr problem
Have you knocked the selector switch next to the lens mount on the LH side ?
This sticks out and is easy to put camera into manual focus. Robin... |

Re: Nikon 70 300 vr problem
No i havent knocked the switch and even with lense off camera the focus ring will not move the scale behind the glass window.
Put my old 70 300 non vr and worked fine as does the 17 55 and the other lenses.

Re: Nikon 70 300 vr problem
I've just had a look at mine and the scale moves on or off the camera, and in whatever mode. Mmm....doesn't help much does it?

Re: Nikon 70 300 vr problem
Well if the other lens are ok then this lens sounds as though it needs a trip to nikon service.
