Nikon af-s Nikkor 55-200mm 1.4-5.6g ed

Hi All,

New here and very new to DSLR so forgive me if I ask any tedious questions.

I have decided to buy a Nikkon D40 and hope to have it by next week.

In my haste to get going I bought a the above titled lens from ebay for 70.00 and it arrived today. I just cant find any info about it on the net at all. Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

Kind Regards
Andy

Re: Nikon af-s Nikkor 55-200mm 1.4-5.6g ed

Hi,thats a very good lens. I have one and I,ve taken some very good shots with it (in my opinion). The filter size is 52mm, the min focus distance is 37". The 35mm eqiv is 82-300mm. i,ve never had a problem with the lack of vr in low light. It has13 elements in 9 groups(2ED elements),Its fitted with Nikons silent wave focus motor which should ,as the description says, be very silent. It has aperture range @ 55mm of f4 to f22 and at 200mm f5.6 tof32. I found mid range apertures seemed the best on my D40X. Hope this helps!
