Nikon D70 - To be superceded?

Noticed today that Nikon have a cashback offer on the D70 and associated kits. £50 off a body, more on some of the kits...

I guess it's either because they're going to bring out a new model or because they want to try and keep up with Canon...

So I might be off to Warehouse Express before long...

this is tru,
but i have seen the price hiked back upto £850 for the lens kit in Dixons , jessops and other stores,
it was being sold for £749 in the so called sales,
so i dont think there is any real saving of pennies going on,
i bought mine just after christmas ( £549 ) where i could apply for a £300 voucher book of nikon bitz n pieces, tho not of much use unless u want to spend another grand on kit, i got the voucher book in the post last week, and is valid untill the end of this month

Nikon don'tnormally replace their models quickly - look at the now ancient D100 for example!

I think they are just trying to compete with the 300D now that Canon have gone one better with the 20D.
