Re: Online auctions - a word of caution

Sorry but the idea that we should all avoid Ebay because 'there are too many crooks on there now' is to my mind a bit short-sighted. Life always has its share of crooks and sometimes we all get stung. However, in reality we all get stung a lot less than we often portray, it's just that when you do get stung, it hurts and you moan about it big time, perhaps not forgetting it.

I have had one bad experience on Ebay, not terrible but left a bad taste in my mouth. I still remember it bitterly and would love to meet in real life the guy who tried to rip me off.

But that is to dismiss the hundreds of good people I have both bought from and sold to on Ebay. I have saved literally many hundreds of pounds by buying carefully. There are a few things people need to watch out for just as in any other area of life. But to dismiss the whole of Ebay because of a bad experience is like saying because there are some dodgy car sellers out there, I'm never going to buy a second hand car!

For every bad experience, there are hundreds of good ones.... they just don't make the headlines!

Cheers,
Rob
