Photo Editing Software

I currently use a very old version of Photoshop Elements 3.0. With the recent upgrade of my computer and operating software I get the error message that the two are no longer is compatible. There are an almost infinite number of choices of editing software on the market to choose from. I need something fairly basic like the Elements 3.0 but would like input from others. Any suggestions?

Re: Photo Editing Software

If you are an Elements user, I think it makes sense to stick with it. I went from Elements 2 years ago to Paint Shop Pro, as on paper, it was more powerful than the equivalent Elements at the time. However, I found it not as intuitive to use and eventually moved to Photoshop CS2 as I found this even easier to use than elements. Now I have CS3 which has some new features and easier control of some of the existing ones.

I think you will find that the latest Elements will also be able to read your RAW files - but do check first. Same goes for Paint shop Pro. There are many other editing programs such as Serif, but I'm not familiar with them.

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode?...

What O/S are you running?... if vista, you can always try something like Microbodge recommend here..
Make older programs run in this version of Windows

If Win7, more or less the same, but it should have been made easier to do in Win7....

Re: Photo Editing Software

I have Serif PhotoPlus x4 and Elements 8 - for me as a relative novice the latter just looks better on screen and is very logical and easy to use. There is also lots of online tuition and support for Elements, which is great for learning what it can do.
Definately worth a look, I bought my copy for £29.95 from flea bay - bargain!
