Managed to find one of two in stock at Jessops New Oxford Street, at first they wanted full whack but I had cunningly printed out a price list from Park Cameras and after a lot of haggling they price matched along with a SanDisk III Extreme 1Gb card and a Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR lens bundle. Total savings of £440 - result!
![]() Have to wait a few weeks for the lens to come into stock but hopefully it will be worth the wait. Seems to be a big step up in terms of build quality over the D70 and I'm looking forward to trying it out with the 17-55 in the meantime. Sorry for the willy-waving, I'm just chuffed to bits

Congrats - if its half as good as the reviews I think you'll have yourself a pretty great camera - and yes as a Canon user that was hard to say

Thanks all. Always nice to get new toys
Initial impressions are, well... I'm amazed really. It's so much more intuitive to perform simple functions than the D70 - pratically everything you want is performed on the body itself rather than delving into submenus. 5 fps is pretty startling at first I will hopefully get some pics up over the weekend when I have some more time. I don't want to go to work tomorrow now, I just want to go out any play I won't be getting rid of my D70 btw, my other half has earmarked it already lol. Still, it will be nice to get her more involved in my hobby! |

take it to work with you!!
well done on the hagglin front, jessops and their 'price matching' nonsence...I dug up some pretty good dirt on what they expect us all to believe recently so you did well to get the deal you did. now hurry up and get snapping! |
