Re: Which point and shoot?????

Can't speak for the others but my wife has got the Canon SX 10 IS 20xzoom and its a cracking camera AFAIC. She mainly uses auto mode which is pretty damn good, there are manual options too, AV mode TV mode manual and manual focus and the usual preset modes you get on most cameras. In non auto mode ISO ranges from 80-1600.
Couple of examples here iso 80 with flash http://www.jj11.co.uk/80.jpg and iso 1600 no flash http://www.jj11.co.uk/1600.jpg both pics taken under a tungsten light.

Theres also a thread I posted on back in November with some outdoor pics here---> http://www.pixalo.com/community/phot...ors-28803.html
The 20 x optical zoom is great, there is a little bit digital zoom after the 20x has been reached but I'd advise to stay out of it as it wrecks the picture.

I like the flip screen, you can either view through the viewdfinder or the flip screen, the tilt screen I quite like if you want to put the camera down, you can tilt the screen facing up to see what you are shooting, saves my tired old back from bending down too much trying to peer through the viewfinder while its on the ground.

Movie mode is quite good too, you can use the 20x zoom while shooting movies

HTH

Hey....

I have just got the Canon IXUS 980IS..... (I know that this is not on your shortlist...)... I have been very impressed so far.... Good prices at the mo.... and a dpi of 180 for a point-and-click..... very impressive.

Re: Which point and shoot?????

None of the above

Go for the Canon G10 - a point and shoot for the Professional but can also be used for serious work as well

Re: Which point and shoot?????

I love my Fz28 so far. Mic is horrible so i would record to a separate receiver if you are going to make commentaries or reviews or whatever. I just got it yesterday and I posted 2 or 3 shots that I took with it yesterday in my gallery. Moon shots mostly...cuz you know. People always take moon shots when they get a super zoom camera. I'm no different.
