Price Check? - Nikon 18-70mm F3.5-4.5 Kit Lens

Hi

First off I hope I'm allowed to post price checks

Since obtaining a Nikkor F.2.8-4 24-85mm, I have no need for my 18-70mm so I'm thinking of selling it? Looking round a new one ranges from about £170 - £199.

So would you say £130 was about right? or perhaps a bit to steep?

Thanks for your help

Ed

Seems fair to me depending on age/condition and what people may be able to buy the lens for from other sources.

Put it up for sale on the forum and if you get no takers be prepared to reduce/open it for offers?

Thanks Steve! (Can I call you that?, thought I'd ask as some people can get a bit tetchy)

I shall put it up for sale, see what happens. Its in immaculate condition, glass is perfect and includes a cokin uv filter. Done me proud this lens.

Thanks again for your help.

Being an admin of a forum myself, you get users that get annoyed when members refer to them using there first name. So although it sounded strange, I thought I'd better ask even though it is your first name?

Thanks again and its now up for sale!

Ahh I see why you posted it now, I have been called much worse so I wouldn't worry about it

Most of the very nice people on this forum don't seem to mind what we call them (either their chosen username or real name once we know it). I think it makes the forums a little less stirile and more friendly but if anyone should object than thats fine too.

Thanks for clarifying that.

I'm the same, I don't mind being called whatever (within reason though?!). Kinobe is just my alias/photography name but my name is Ed, short for Edmund with a U not an O A common mistake people make.

Anyway before I divert this thread off course, thanks for your help.

Ed

I think you may struggle with selling an 18-70. Really the only people who would be willing to by it are D50 users who bought the 18-55 kit lens. There really is a very small market I'm afraid.

Good luck though.

It might end up going on ebay in the end but we'll see!
