Rain covers ?
I bought a rain cover for my dslr considering the crap weather in ireland and with winter creeping in. I seen at a recent event i was at the person next to me was using a clear rain cover which looked really well but did get condinsation which turned me off it,(i was using a mate wit a large umbrella). So i came across this rain cover and got it delivered very speedy and reckon its good enough for me. Its got padding etc to keep it protected and so on but is easy to use and seems of good quality. Just wonderin what you guys think on camera covers. Did i make a good choice , here is a link to the what i got http://www.cameraclean.co.uk/acatalog/JU0150WebDual.jpg

Re: Rain covers ?
The picture you posted looks a lot like the AquaTech raincovers - I can't tell for sure if it is one or not. Anyways, AquaTech provide the best solutions when shooting for extended periods in the wet - you'll see them a lot on the sidelines of major sporting events when the weather turns foul. They're not cheap but they do a great job of it.
I myself have one of the clear plastic covers by Kata and, right enough, it will fog up pretty quickly... though I mainly use it for tripod based work in conjunction with a cable release, so it doesn't really fog under those circumstances. So: if you're routinely shooting in foul weather, go for the AquaTech. |

Re: Rain covers ?
I've the Ewa-Marine rain cape (from camerasunderwater) which allows me to stand under waterfalls! Been a major, not to say camera-saving, advantage on a couple of occasions - once when I set up on a beach and got caught in a tropics-like downpour (picsdidn't do it justice!) and another occasion when under a 100 foot 'fall in New Zealand (I got soaked, despite my waterproofs, but camera was OK and I got a couple of OK shots!).
Upside is the optical glass "window". Downside is the humidity (and so condensation) from being in a plastic bag and the need to dry hands before holding camera (fairly obvious but not always easy!)
