Remote Triggers

So I keep promising myself to get a camera setup behind a goal that I can trigger from the sidelines so........

I need some triggers.

I've read about Pocket Wizards but the build quality appears to let them down. So I'm sorting sold on the Interfit ones as they have good build quality and good signal coverage.

So what do I need? I want to have one trigger on a camera body with me on the sideline and obviously one behind the goal......I need connectors from trigger to body?

Any advice appreciated.

Re: Remote Triggers

I presume you mean wireless triggers, Ian, of which I haven't got a clue. Surely it's just two cameras, each with wireless capability, and two wireless switches. But how you ensure which switch activates which camera

Re: Remote Triggers

Yes sorry stepheno wireless.

I'm just asuming I need 2 triggers one used as a sender and the one behind the goal as the receiver.......plus the correct wires from triggers to bodies

Re: Remote Triggers

Don't your cameras have built in wireless capability, so you'd only need compatible switches?

Re: Remote Triggers

Not that well up with wireless triggers Ian, but unless you can buy a set with one trigger and x receivers, I guess you might have to buy two sets and use the same dip switch settings and hopefully, the one trigger will work both cameras. You will need to check that they work on the same frequency though.

Re: Remote Triggers

Well after doing some phoning around I've ordered a pair of Interfit Titan Pro units with (hopefully) the correct cables.

Ordered them from Speed Graphic (never heard or dealt with them before) so will let you know how it all goes.

Re: Remote Triggers

I just picked up a nice little set of wireless trigger and receiver.
the trigger can be set up to 16 frequencies. I have my MT-24 that will slave one flash. I had the guy set it up before I bought it and it worked great. Reach is important and I hope that part works out for you. Mine will lose control around forty five feet. I didn't get to use it for what I wanted because of the hot spell we had and I wasn't going out there and short out my camera from sweating on it . Still excited about having it and look forward to using it.

They were 150 for a pair + 2 cables @ 24.95 each.....there were places cheaper (and places dearer) but they didn't have stock.

Re: Remote Triggers

Guys am i reading this right?? the op wants wire less triggers behind the goal ?? No mention of flash. why would you want a flash behind a goal? Does he not want a camera behind on remote to catch the action?

all the triggers you speak of are for flash guns etc,

what is op wanting? remote flash or remote camera shooting. 2 different things,

Re: Remote Triggers

IIRC you need a cable to go from a slave unit to your camera remote release socket and then use the transmitter to release the shutter with the test button.

Not sure if the cable is included or if you have to buy one.

will need to investigate but to be honest i dont really like the idea of something hanging down and attached tot eh camera, you cant fit the receiver onto the hot shoe as it has the screw for the tripod......

If you were going to fire the camera remotely, you would usually have it on a tripod and you can strap the remote to the tripod.
