Shell Case Recommendations

My current bags are a Lowepro rucksack and a Lowepro messenger type bag, the second bought mainly for my HS10 and iPad. However, I want to start a small project where, for a month, I'm only going out with my 7D and 50mm f1.8, and set on manual, get out of my comfort zone and try to improve my technique, in composition if nothing else.

The rucksack is overkill for this, but the messenger bag just doesn't give enough protection. I want to get one of those camera shaped cases that simply hold the camera and attached lens, however, as the very shape of it announces Camera Here, I will put this in the messenger bag (with inserts removed).

I wondered if anyone had any recommendations. I want to keep it as cheap as possible as this exercise aside, I don't think it's something I'd use a whole lot after.

Re: Shell Case Recommendations

If you want a stealth look, almost any bag will do and there are plenty available from markets, supermarkets and general stores. If you want a bag that has some functionality for holding a camera with protection and easy access, most will look like camera bags unless you look at the mainstrem makers, but then the price will go up a lot.

Have a look at the bags offerd at the 7 Day Shop

They have got loads of cheap bags and a quick search got these as an example

7dayshop.com - Online Store

They do free delivery too.

Re: Shell Case Recommendations

I use a crumpler pretty boy when I take out body and one lens, It's padded and rain resistant has a front pocket and 1 movable section inside. I don't know if they still do the pretty boy but you can pick them up for next to nothing on Ebay. Make sure you get one big enough for a 7d though, it wouldn't fit in the size I have

Re: Shell Case Recommendations

Thankyou for the input guys. Turns out I never had to spend a penny, a friend of mine had a Lowepro Toploader going spare which he very kindly gave me.

He is a nice guy Helgrrr, although I've been his unpaid assistant at a couple of weddings he shot.
