Sigma 10-20mm

Just ordered a Sigma 10-20mm. Hopefully will arrive on monday...

I occasionally do guest house websites so hopefully I can find some clients to justify the £300 outlay failing that I suppose i'll just have to take some landscape shots...

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

Cracking lens. You better get used to the "perspective" crop when shooting anything with verticals at the wider end of the zoom

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

You must be a Nikon man then, the Canon version in Jessops is about £30 cheaper for some reason (not that I'm complaining ) and with the 10% off code that take's it down to £270...

...So don't worry, even with the 10% off you wouldn't have got a better deal at Jessops.

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

Very good lens - as Dave says be ready, its a bit weird at first looking through at the widest angles.

Colour and contrast on this lens I find to be very good and gives very sharp results softening just a little at the edges.

Got mine for £270 and pleased I did, dont think I would have been quite so impressed had I paid twice the price and gone for the Canon equivalent

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

It was a close run thing. I can get the nikon one in the UK for £500 delivered but I decided I'd rather have the extra width - this way I can also get the Nikon 50mm f/1.4 too

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

It was the same for me aswell as I can get the Canon 10-22 imported for £360 (after cash-back)... but the £90 will come in handy when I go to Berlin for the weekend next month... then again I could be cheap in Berlin and get a nifty fifty aswell

Same decision by myself OP. Each 1mm at the wide equated to an extra 5 degrees of view !!

Now you're teasing be with the 50mm f/1.4 ......very nice.
