Sigma 100-300 F4 for Pentax ... anyone tried it?

Just in case I might regret my recent order for this lens, has anyone yet tried this lens with the K10D/K20D?
I was told, from another forum (Photo.net) that there was no noticeable difference between the Sigma 100-300F4 and the Pentax DA*300 F4 (prime).
Price almost the same for both, but since I already own a 1.4X Sigma APO TC that is (will be) fully compatible with the 100-300, I thought I might as well go for the Sigma.
I did see some pics taken with the 100-300 but I wasn't too sure whether this was someone trying to boost a little in favour of Sigma.
Anyhow, any comment(s) would certainly be appreciated.
Thanks a bunch!
JP
