Sigma 150-500mm

I have just got my hands on a used Sigma 150-500mm 5.6-6.3 lens from warehouse express, I intend to use it for wildlife and some bike racing I know it is not too fast but I don't have very deep pockets,I haven't tried it out yet but when I do I will post the results on here,I have found one thing though I is a heavy beast it will be interesting to find out if I can hand hold it.
Cheers
Mick

Interesting possibilities and I look forward to seeing the results - a good monopod will help.

Agree with Stepheno about the monopod. I have one with a quick release plate to enable fast attachment and it flips to vertical orientation very easily should you need to. It is a Manfrotto 234RC2.

nce you have been using it for a while perhaps you can write up a review and add it to the other ones here

Re: Sigma 150-500mm

my brother has one with his om-d. uses it handheld a lot. It is heavy tho and if you struggle to hold it then some support like a mono or tripod may help.

Re: Sigma 150-500mm

I use mine as a walkabout lens (zoom and handheld for flexibility) as I tend to prefer my 500 (mono/tripod'd) or 300 for when I'm in one spot
