Sigma 18-200mm lens vs Nikon 18-200mm lens

With the announcement of the new Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS lens at around £440, how do members think it will compare with the top selling Nikon AF-S 18-200mm DX VR 3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens at £550 ?

Will people see the £110 saving worthwile for the Sigma, or go for the Nikon brand ?

Must admit the build quality was superb on the Nikon lens, so either Sigma may have priced too high or god forbid, Nikon too low

Re: Sigma 18-200mm lens vs Nikon 18-200mm lens

I keep toying with the idea of the Nikon 18-200 but think I'd seldom use it, the maximum aperture and softish images would put me off. I have nothing against Sigma lenses I've owned a few and still have 2. They make some very impressive glass but the even slower maximum aperture of the Sigma would put me off.
