Sigma 18 - 200mm Vignetting

Hi all,

not posted in a long while, hope you are all well?

I have a Sigma 18-200 for general use and I notice I get some vignetting when shooting at the 200 end of the lens, does anyone else get this, is there a solution?

(Use a Canon 40D body if that makes any difference)

Thanks,
James.

I used to have one of these lenses, but never noticed any vignetting. You usually get it at the wider end of a lens rather than the long end of the range.

Thanks,

Could the lens hood I was using cause it? I would have thought they would be designed to avoid it, but I suppose it's possible.

Re: Sigma 18 - 200mm Vignetting

Again, if the lens hood was causing it, iy would be at the wide end, not the long end. The angle of view at the long end is much narrower than the diameter of the lens.

You could try contacting the Sigma service centre to see if it is a known issue or if it is worth sending it in for a check up.
