Re: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC MACRO?
For mostly landscape work? I'd say you'd probably be better off looking for an ultra wide angle lens, like the Canon EF-S 10-22, Tamron 12-24mm f/4, Tokina 10-17mm, etc. Canon, Tamron, Tokina, and Sigma all make lenses in the 10-40 range, and a few would be within your price range.
If you need a bit more reach, the Canon 17-85mm IS lens is nice, and I'm pretty sure Sigma has a 17-70 lens as well. |

Re: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC MACRO?
I had used it on the studio I worked before, and let me tell you, the lens is very bad :/ the price tag doesn't justifies all the problems this lens packs, first of all Sigma's flawed quality control, second wide open was horrible..plain horrible, at 18mm the lens is very bad.... thanks goodness it wasn't mine but I can't recommend you to stay away from it.
PhotoZone has many reviews of lenses if you are doing landscape you shoul search as ChrisRabior says a lens in the 10-40 range. |
