Sigma 18 - 50mm f3.5
anyone got the F4.5 version of this, ive mostly good reviews, but the occasional ****SuX05****OMFG DOnt buy, eats small kittens then vomits the remains on your shoe**** type reviews, but very rare, most likely one or 2 genuine rubbish ones, the rest mainly people who cant use them properly, but as we only have high quality members here, what you all think??

Couldn't comment on that particular one but I'm very happy with my Sigma 18-50 F2.8 EX. It's not as sharp as a 17-40L (obviously) but for the money I'm more than content. I find that having f/2.8 does come in handy, especially indoors. The only downside is that you do get more purple fringing than with L glass. If you don't need the extreme tele end then that Tamron with the stupidly long name (28-70 XR Di whatever) would probably be a better bet for similar cash.

i managed to get one off ebay, i tracked it for a while, the bloke didnt reach his reserve so i pounced, if its not any good i will simply sell it on again. Need something at the wider end though, and all the reviews that havent been bad say this lens is ok, ive had a couple of sample shots off the chap and they seem ok too.
Results posted when i get it |
