Sigma EF 500 DG vs sigma EF 530 DG on 30D
Hi...
Two questions... Will the sigma EF 500 DG ST work with my Canon 30D ? And how does the EF 500 compare to the new EF 530 As always on a budget - I can pickup the 530 for about £119 - or buy a S/H 500 for less ? Need Quick answer if possible as there is a 500 ending on ebay shortly... |

As far as I can see there is not that much difference between the EF 500 ST & the 530ST
You can get the EF 530 from PhotoSense for £109.99 and the EF 500 from UK Digital Cameras for £99.  Be careful on E-bay you don't pay over the odds & compare it to these prices I have guided before you get carried away.  Both of these models are very similar and if you don't require the remote slave trigger facility which the EF 500 Super & EF 530 Super gives then the alternative is a genuine Canon 430 EX may be a better choice if you can find one in your price range on either E Bay or Canon_UK site. There is a difference between the ST and the Super. I have the Super and it works fine on a 30D with full ETTL II compatibiltiy. Build quality isn't up to Canon but then I don't kick it around
