Signed Prints question

Hi people,

I have been asked to do signed rally photos for customers here in Ireland and I have a couple of questions about it.

Can anyone recommend any pens for signing the actual print or pens for signing the glass on the frame?

Any help would be appreciated, i've tried ebay, google and some photography stores but can't find anything useful!

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Re: Signed Prints question

I work in the fine art industry, so deal with a lot of signed artworks - Paper prints are generally signed in pencil (normal HB), with canvas prints signed in in black permanent marker or sliver/gold marker pens. I haven't dealt with anything signed on the frame or glass though.

Hope that helps

Re: Signed Prints question

At work we use a spirit based pen to mark cobex - a kind of thin pliable perspex. They are effectively indelible.

Dammed if I can think of the name of them at the moment, but I'll check them out and let you know.

I think they are made by Staidtler and come in water soluble (not good) or permanent types.

Google permanent marker pen and you might find something suitable.

They are similar to These and usually come in a pack of 10.

Or these

I've found them! I think these are the ones we use. Lumocolour rings a bell. We get them in fine or medium tip.
